You Are My Christmas Wish Darlin Dew

Christmas is the one time of year that I look forward to most
Lately though, it hasn't felt like it at all
I look out the window and I don't see snow
I don't feel festive or joyous
There just feels like a huge hole missing inside of me
Every day I feel sadder and sadder
Like the days are just going by faster and faster
I miss the holidays that we would celebrate Megels
That first time when we got that little tree
We set it up in my room on the counter
Decorated it with our little decorations
While we watched shows on my laptop
Christmas music playing over us
The lights I hung up around my room illuminating us
You had the penguin on a block of ice ornament
We took pictures
You looked absolutely beautiful
I took more pictures of you than of the tree
You hated the cold weather
But it gave us the chance to snuggle closer in bed
Keeping each other warm in the best of ways
We would exchange gifts
I made sure to reach back to your past and your interests
The supernatural autographs, Luigi's Mansion, Mystical Ninja
We made cookies at your house and decorated them all
Later as we lived together in a new state
We got our own full size tree
Decorating it with your bag of ornaments
While holiday movies played on the tv near us
You decorated the apartment so beautifully
I miss our holidays together
I miss you and the time I could spend with you
The hole that is missing within me is you
Christmas is the best time of the year
The day that I think about you the most
Every time I go to my parents house on that special day
I always hope and pray against all odds
That once we are done opening gifts, they will look at me
They will say that there is one more gift
A special one
And you would walk out from the other room
I would jump up off the couch and grab you into my arms
Tears would roll down my face
I cannot believe I'm lucky enough to hold you again

I know I've messed up, made mistakes
I never grew up, took life seriously
But this Christmas I am vowing to be the best I can be
