The girl who conquered the rain

The weekend started off as normal as any others but this one contained a special trip to an amusement park that was long looked forward to.  Past weekends had them hand in hand experiencing all kinds of adventures together from flea markets to various other locales around the area.  He dressed for the occasion in an outfit that wasn't too hot and something he would be comfortable in for a long period of time.  The giddiness in his chest was rising and he couldn't wait to not only see her come out of her walk in closet but to enjoy a day full of fun and laughs.  His finger ran over his pass in his pocket, feeling each letter that was raised off of the small card.  Before she came out he checked the small assortment of supplies they would be taking with them.  Water to drink, extra shoes, and because they were super nerdy fans they would be bringing a set of magical Harry Potter wands.  They called them magical because they were, certain spots in the park reacted to their magical power even if it was just what they told themselves as they walked around between all the muggles.
Then he heard the sound of a door opening and footsteps followed and he whirled around to face the noise and there she was.  It always surprised him that every time he saw her she found a way to look even more beautiful than the last time he laid eyes on her.  Her hair had been pulled back into a ponytail that swung with each step and she was decked out in a t-shirt of Jensen Ackles and leggings that stopped just under her knees exposing calves that he found it hard to blink.  Black and white converse shoes adorned her cute little feet and she stood smiling at him and asked if he was ready to go.  Looking at her he was already having a great day and couldn't believe it was about to get better.
They gathered up some small snacks for the drive ahead of them and made sure that they both had their passes and her very special one of a kind Star Wars backpack.  The car ride was about an hour long and they filled the time by alternating between singing classic hits and quizzing each other movie trivia and rereading did you know facts from Harry Potter and the such.  They pointed out passing landmarks and knew they were close when billboards started advertising the park they were headed to.
Once inside they parked under a heading of a famous character being careful to note exactly where they were.  Then they made their way hand in hand to the main entrance.  He was already filled with smiles and the feeling of completeness.  She had shared a habit with him of making little safe judgements of the people going into the park, of which they would do in greater frequency when leaving and watching the people coming into the park at night for the bars and nightlife.  The clouds were hanging overhead giving the day an ominous feeling that at any moment they would open up drenching the Earth in rivers worth of water.  This did not phase them at all and they began choosing which rides they wanted to do first.  The nerds in them won out first and they took a roller coaster ride with the Hulk even though he was always hesitant on that one out of fear of being sick.  They made their way around the various rides of the park having tons of fun and kissing while in lines waiting.  They heard various dialects in the lines from Britain to Japan and got filling meals in restaurants decorated to look like famous movie locations.  They both made sure they hit their favorite rides, hers including a Mummy ride and Harry Potter rides where she always saw a face on the wall that he never could see.  Their tired feet never crossed their minds and no matter where they were he made sure that his fingers were wrapped around hers.  He made her giggle and she made him squirm and the longer they were there the darker the clouds came to try and interrupt their wonderful day.  They shared a few more kisses and started feeling drops of water falling from the sky.  Not thinking it would rain, they left the house without any umbrellas and began to wonder where they would run to and stay dry.  The sky had other plans and loudly exclaimed that it was ready to cool the Earth and began raining.  The rain coated the world around them and they began to run to any kind of cover, him secretly taking many looks at her as the rain on her skin made it glisten and her wet hair fell in the sexiest of ways.  The rain didn't let up and to her credit she didn't let a single drop change her  plans of the day.  She simply altered them and they took indoor rides and shops and bought delicious sweets while their feet squished in the water of their shoes. 
As night fell, the lights lit up around them and the rain retreated to its bed in the sky.  As if by pure will of love, a small water show began near them with music from films past.  A video show lit up the falling water and played a history of romance through the movies.  They took up residence near the bank of the lake and he held her from behind as they watched the show play on.  The day was a grand success and ended in the best way imaginable.  Her in his arms.  Mother nature was unable to put a damper on their day and it was all thanks to the beautiful angel in front of him.  The girl who conquered the rain.
